Hike to the MAMMOTH!!!

Meet us at: 6:45AM at the SMUGGLERS PASS PARKING AREA (OFF the Transmountain Road Loop 375) this parking lot is right after the picnic tables close to the foot of the mountain.

YES! you will pass the entrance to Tom Mays State Park (keep going).

**We will begin hiking at 7:00am

Our hike is going to take us to the foot of the Mammoth Rock.

THIS IS NOT A BEGINNER HIKE.

Distance: 4-mile round trip

Hike Rating: Moderate to difficult with 1300 ft elevation, plenty of loose rocks and cactuses here and there.

Elevation Gain: 1300 ft.

Meet us by the self-serve paying station.

There is a $5.00 entry fee.

We will hike at a moderate speed and stop to take pictures, enjoy the views of our Franklin Mountains and our city.

Bring water, snacks, sturdy shoes, gloves, hiking poles and a positive and fun attitude.

PAY $5.00 at the pay station located at the Smugglers Pass parking area.

For safety reasons we hike together and support each-other as a group/team, with the leader in control. We stop, rest, eat, etc. together. No one will be allowed to hike ahead at any time. If you are unwilling to comply with this please do not sign up. Thank-you
