Join me for another glorious and beautiful morning hike to the crest of our Franklin Mountains. Bring your coffee or whatever drink you like and be camera ready for some beautiful photos.
Meet us at: 6:45 AM at the SMUGGLERS PASS PARKING AREA (OFF the Transmountain Road Loop 375) this parking lot is right after the picnic tables close to the foot of the mountain.
YES! you will pass the entrance to Tom Mays State Park (keep going).
Meet us at 6:45 am.
We will begin hiking at 7:00
Our hike is going to take us a mile up (poles area) and take the trails down to complete a loop and return to the cars. This is not a beginner hike.
Meet us by the self-serve paying station.
There is a $5.00 entry fee.
Hike Rating: Moderate to difficult with elevation, loose rocks and cactuses here and there.
Distance: 2-mile round trip
Elevation Gain/Loss: about 500 ft.
We will hike at a moderate speed and stop to enjoy the views of our Franklin Mountains and our city.
Bring water, snacks, sturdy shoes, gloves, hiking poles and a positive and fun attitude.

Participants should be in good physical condition to attend any outing. Folks with an underlying medical condition should avoid moderate and strenuous outings. Participants who RSVP yes also agree to the Release of Liability statement: Located in the "What we're about" section.
PLEASE! stay home if you are not feeling well
For safety reasons we hike together and support each-other as a group/team, with the leader in control. We stop, rest, eat, etc. together. No one will be allowed to hike ahead at any time. If you are unwilling to comply with this please do not sign up. Thank-you
