RESCHEDULED Sierra Vista Trail (SVT) Qualifying Hike #3a (South Half of the SVT)

THIS IS THE RESCHEDULED QH#3 PLACED IN THE SLOT WHERE QH#4 WAS. QH#4 HAS BEEN DELETED. RECALL QH#3 WAS CANCELLED DUE TO RAIN AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS WEATHER CAUSING ARROYOS TO FLOOD. THIS QH#3a IS NOW THE LAST HIKE IN THE QUALIFICATION SERIES. COMPLETE THIS HIKE AND BE AUTOMATICALLY QUALIFIED TO ATTEND THE 29 MILE SVT HIKE ON FEBRUARY 21ST.

Goal: The final opportunity to qualify for the 29 mile Sierra Vista Hike. On this hike we will be on the southern part of the Sierra Vista Trail.
The Date/Time: Sunday February 8, 2026. We start hiking at 8:00AM
Start: Meet at the Vado Parking Area Trailhead [32.13794809639385, -106.60557727360286]. This location is approximately the half way point of the 29 Mile SVT Hike.
Finish: (32.011588, -106.519041) The South End of the Sierra Vista Trail on Highway 404 (O'Hara Rd). Just 4 miles east of Dona Ana Community College. NOTE: This location is at a cattle guard where you may enter through the highway fencing. Then proceed between the two chain-link fenced areas to the left through the exposed Natural Gas Pipelines to co-ordinates 32.012649, -106.523565 called Anthony Gap on "Maps." Do not use the Anthony Gap co-ordinates first as it will take you on an extra 7 miles of highway out of the way. It will still get you there, but get to the Finish co-ordinates first then enter the second set (Anthony Gap co-ordinates) to get to final destination where we intend to meet and pickup the hikers.
