For the paleontologist among our ranks we are organizing a morning hike at Big Bone Lick State Historic Site on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 9 AM. The park, in cooperation with the Friends of Big Bone and the Cincinnati Museum Center, worked together to create and produce all new exhibits for the park’s Visitor Center. The Discovery Trail is a 4.5 mile trail mosaic comprised of all the park’s hiking trails combined into continuous circuit. Collectively, the trails pass through grasslands, woodlands, a woody savanna, the salt-sulfur springs, and the bison viewing area.” .
Following the hike we will travel to Thistle and Rose Farm in Crittenden, for a cookout and yard games. Dan has asked that everyone bring their favorite yard games, horse shoes, corn hole, etc. There is rumor that a corn hole tournament is planned with prizes awarded!
Bratts or metts, chips and soft drinks provided. PLEASE RSVP as Dan is asking for $3 from each participant for the food costs and may be paid that day. Please note: This is a BYOB event and everyone is expected to have their own designated driver as there is not Uber close by!
