Polkadot New York Workshop: Build Your Own Blockchain with Substrate

Details

Workshop by Burak Arikan, Graph Commons & Shawn Tabrizi, Parity Technologies

Substrate is an open-source modular framework for building blockchains, and is the backbone of the upcoming Polkadot network. Learn how to build a custom Crypto Collectables DAppchain during this live working session with Parity Technologies. We will walk you through the end-to-end process for setting up your working environment, going through the basics of the runtime development, and finally building a game from the ground up.

By the end of this workshop, you will have all the tools and knowledge needed to build a custom blockchain using Substrate!

Prerequisites: Please complete Chapter 0 here:
https://shawntabrizi.github.io/substrate-collectables-workshop/#/0/introduction

Substrate is written using a new programming language called Rust. If you are unfamiliar with Rust, that is okay! But we recommend reviewing at least the first 3 chapter of the official Rust Book:
