About us
Krishna West (krishnawest.com) is an international coalition of communities and individuals dedicated to spiritual attainment, and human progress. We recognize that only a society inspired and guided by a coherent spiritual understanding can solve the seemingly intractable problems that threaten to upend modern civilization. Although the problems are various – social, political, environmental, economic etc. – they are all symptoms of an underlying spiritual deficit.
While sincerely respecting all virtuous spiritual traditions, we take special guidance from the timeless wisdom of the sacred Bhakti-yoga texts of South Asia, most famous of which is the Bhagavad-Gita.
• Humanitarian Service – Krishna West’s parent organization provides vegetarian food to millions daily across 60 countries, runs 120 eco-villages and 100 restaurants, and partners with the Indian government to feed 1.2 million school children each day.
• Community and Purpose – Emphasis on the universal human desire for a meaningful, compassionate community united by shared values and service.
• Self-Mastery and Inner Transformation – Teachings from Buddha, Descartes, Dostoyevsky and Plato highlight the timeless principle of conquering oneself as the key to true victory and peace.
• Spiritual Unity – The Bhagavad-Gita is presented as a text that harmonizes wisdom from diverse traditions into a unified vision of peace and understanding.
• New Thinking for a Better World – Citing Einstein, “We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them. We need a shift in consciousness and self-transformation as the foundation for solving global and personal problems.
• Invitation to Engage – Krishna West is framed as a modern, accessible movement that integrates ancient wisdom, community, and service to promote holistic personal and social transformation.
