Fold Gallery and Fitzrovia Gallery: A Welcome Back to Contemporary Art London

Welcome back to Contemporary Art London! With September round the corner, we're re-starting our arts events, starting with Fold Gallery and Fitzrovia Gallery, for the finale of this summer's Focus Art Fair. This evening event will be an opportunity to catch-up with one another for those who've attended previous events, and to meet new faces for those who want to explore art in London.

This first event will be free to attend for everyone, and there will be talks by the curator of the show and Director of Focus Art London, Sunming Hong. The show, called 'Focus on Colour of Life' will include new paintings by international artists, and stretches across the two galleries.

About the show:

All of life is an intricate composition of colours that juxtapose as they meet, creating new harmonies upon every encounter. Just as a prism filters light into not seven discrete colours but every hue in between, so colours invite us in to pay close attention to and enjoy the overflowing diversity of life around us. No artist and no viewer will relate to colour the same way, and some even say that everyone sees each colour a bit differently. It is on the basis of this relationship that HongLee Curator has chosen ‘Colours of Life’ as the theme for Focus London 2021.

Event details:

18:30pm: We'll meet at Fold Gallery at 158 New Cavendish Street.

20:15pm: We'll congregate outside the gallery and head to Fitzrovia Gallery on Whitfield Street (6 minute walk).

21:30pm: Event ends.

Before the event:

You'll receive a MeetUps message ahead of the event letting you know on any updates to the event, so make sure you check this before coming along.

Closest station:
Goodge Street Station (Northern Line).

What to bring:
A notebook if you want to write down your thoughts, and a jumper if it's cold.

As always, if you can't make it just send a message to let me know and take your name off the RSVP list.

Cost:
As our first event of the new, post-lockdown era, the event is free to attend.

Health & Safety:
If you are feeling unwell, please do not attend the event. Masks are not required, but please feel free to wear one during the event. Please also note there may be a lot of people in the gallery, so please bear this in mind if you are concerned about crowds.
