Welcome to our West Coast Swing Dance Meetup Group!
Calling all Westies! Come & join us for an evening of socializing & fun dancing to WCS Music.
- The social dance event will be better enjoyed if you already know your Basic West Coast Swing. If you're an experienced WCS dancer, or know your WCS basics, our guest instructor teaches a pre-dance lesson from 5:30-6:30pm, just before the social dance. This lesson helps to amp up your social dance routine.
- Our social dance happens right after the pre-dance lesson with 2.5 hrs of dancing to WCS music by our guest DJ.
- There is a $20 cover for the social dance and lesson if paid at the door, or RSVP by paying in advance through the website at upbeateventswa.com (prepaid at $15+ card fee).
- If you're absolutely new or a complete beginner to the WCS dance, it would help to learn the basic steps. We have a separate meetup group dedicated to learning the beginner basic lesson only which is called "Learn Easiest West Coast Swing Beginner Basic Lesson". By taking the Beginner Basic Lesson ahead of the Social Dance, it will help you follow the pre-dance lesson taught by the guest instructor. The Beginner Basic Lesson group meets twice a month, including the day of the social dance event at Kent Commons Community Center. Please check it out!.
Our group is perfect for dancers who are passionate about the WCS dance. Take the appropriate lesson, or not, or just enjoy the evening dancing and connecting with others equally passionate about the dance and make new friends in a fun and welcoming environment. Let's dance our way to a healthier, happier, and more connected community together!
