Welcome to our Phoenix Hiking Group! Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned hiker, this group is all about getting outside, enjoying fresh air, meeting new people, and getting some exercise. We meet up at various hiking trails around the metro area, so it’s perfect for folks new to the area or anyone looking to connect with others who share a love for the outdoors. See all- Bannon Creek Trail to Trail #396Goldwater Lake, Prescott, AZ
Join us for a scenic 5.2-mile hike along the Bannon Creek Trail to Trail #396, which takes about 2 hours and 11 minutes with a moderate 669 ft elevation gain. We'll start at Goldwater Lake Park and follow the Bannon Creek Trail as it winds along Upper Goldwater Lake. Near the bridge, we'll take a short side trail that connects to Prescott National Forest Trail #396—there’s a natural spring along the way where leashed dogs can enjoy a splash before we head back.
Parking at Goldwater Lake Park is $3 per vehicle when paying at the kiosk directly. Please plan to arrive 15–20 minutes early, as parking can vary depending on how busy the trails are that day. Trekking poles can be helpful, and we strongly recommend bringing water and wearing sturdy hiking shoes. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a leash.
