Gateway Loop Trail **Sunrise**

Details
Join us for a 4.4-mile sunrise hike on the scenic Gateway Loop Trail in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve! This moderately challenging route takes about 2 hours to complete and includes a 718 ft elevation gain, with great desert views and rocky terrain in some areas.
Important: We will start hiking at 5:00 a.m. sharp to beat the heat, so it is essential that everyone arrives 15–20 minutes early to allow time for parking, gear, and group check-in.
Please bring plenty of water, wear proper hiking footwear, and consider bringing trekking poles for added stability. Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash. Let’s beat the heat and enjoy the desert morning together! If you are unfamiliar with the route, please prepare yourself for the possibility that you could be separated from the group and may need to self-guide. There are maps available at the trailhead.
