On this night, six people will share their true stories with you.
The finale will feature a story from ERIC EM, a man who arrived in Australia as a boat refugee.
His family fled political oppression in Vietnam. Their journey by boat included starvation and pirate attacks. They eventually made it to Melbourne with little more than the clothes they were wearing. His parents couldn't speak English. They took manual labour jobs and rebuilt from zero.
Eric worked extremely hard, graduated from RMIT with honours in engineering, worked internationally with Mercedes-Benz and went on to build a career in Australia's energy sector.
This is what the Australian dream can look like for families like his: something built across a generation.
A family arrives with almost nothing but the chance to begin again. Their son grows up with opportunities his parents crossed an ocean to give him, and makes the most of them.
What did that beginning cost his parents? And what does their son carry forward?
Eric is only one of SIX.
Joining him is DR DINESH PALIPANA OAM.
Dinesh was halfway through medical school when a car accident left him quadriplegic at 25. He returned to medicine. He became Queensland's first quadriplegic medical intern and went on to become a doctor, lawyer, spinal cord injury researcher, university academic, author and disability advocate. He completed an Advanced Clerkship in Radiology at Harvard University, was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia and, in 2021, was named Queensland Australian of the Year.
Behind that list of achievements is a human story: a life that changed in seconds, and everything that came after.
Then there's ANDREA GULLICK.
Andrea's first-born baby was diagnosed with cancer at just two days old. Three years later, another devastating event changed the course of her life all over again.
Andrea describes these experiences as simultaneously among the “worst and best things that ever happened to her.”
On November 6, she'll tell us why.
And then there's JOSH 'KYOTE' TAYLOR.
Josh was a professional wrestler when an injury began a chain of events that ultimately resulted in the amputation of his leg. You might expect that experience to define the person you meet today. But you obviously haven't met Josh. His outlook on life is absolutely incredible.
On November 6, you'll hear the story behind it.
Joining them is MOALE JAMES-PROUD.
Moale is a Papua New Guinean–Australian storyteller, creative producer and recipient of Creative Australia's 2025 Kirk Robson Award for Community Arts and Cultural Development.
She gave a TEDx talk while still in high school, produced stories for ABC's Stories From The Pacific, and helped a hospitality group change its entry policy after a Brisbane bar refused her entry because of her traditional cultural facial markings.
At EVRY1, she's bringing us into another part of her world: her hectic, eccentric Papua New Guinean family.
Expect characters, chaos and hilarious details from someone who knows them all a little too well.

Completing the lineup is TAMARA MEYER.
Tamara grew up moving between more than 20 homes and six schools, and experienced homelessness at twelve.
Performing became a place where she could express herself. She went on to appear in Underbelly: Razor and So You Think You Can Dance, tour nationally as a dancer and choreographer, and win professional bodybuilding competitions.
Today, she helps other people find their voice and the confidence to be seen. But what did it take to find her own?
When you've spent your childhood adjusting to new homes, new schools and new versions of normal, how do you work out who you want to become?
