Building Forms as Configuration: Declarative DSL in Action

In this presentation, I’ll share how we designed and implemented a declarative form library at Holland & Barrett, powered by a domain-specific language (DSL). Instead of manually building forms with useState, useEffect, and complex conditionals, we define them entirely through configuration: fields, behavior, dependencies, and validation — all in one place. I’ll demonstrate how this approach improves consistency, scalability, and development speed. I’ll also show real cases, key learnings, and architectural insights.
