Let's do it again, Tech for Good Leeds!

Join us in the evening of Thursday 25th July for another celebration and discussion of tech projects (and people) that aim for positive social, health and environmental impact.

Located at Co>Space North, a new space community of makers and doers who are passionate about digitally enabled health and care.

Emma Back / Equal Care Co-op

Emma has worked in social care and community development her whole working life. Previously trustee for community based charity Stepney City Farm, then working for major mental health charity Richmond Fellowship and advocacy charity VoiceAbility, she offers insight into how support services are designed, developed and commissioned. She saw that power over how services are delivered sits with commissioners and managers. It's rare for people on the front-line to be in charge. Emma is leading on setting up Equal Care Co-op, an emerging platform co-operative based in the Calder Valley, owned by the givers and receivers of care and support.

Andrea Silani and Caroline Schaal / Teachers and co-founders of Lift Lessons

Andrea and Caroline use their background in teaching to develop inclusive digital resources to teach vocabulary and improve science literacy. They also aim to provide work experience opportunities which positively welcome people with learning differences. They are very excited about the latest project they are involved in - a literacy based game co-created by students, and in collaboration with CAFFE (Computers Are Free For Everyone).

MindWell won the LDF2019 tech for good award in Leeds earlier this year. The MindWell team will share their story and we will hear about the work of State of Mind working to support mens mental wellbeing from a local sporting hero.
