Details

The last "Tech for Good Leeds" of 2019!

Join us on Thursday 28th November for a jam-packed evening of celebration and discussion of tech for good initiatives, organisations, projects and people that aim for positive social, health and environmental impact.

Tech for Good Leeds is kindly hosted by our friends Co>Space North — a space to help people passionate about digitally enabled health and care.

— Speakers —

Phil Hesketh, Founder, Consent Kit

As a service designer and user researcher, Phil founded Ethics Kit in 2017. Developing tools to enable ethical considerations within design workflows.

After completing an MA at Hyper Island, Phil went on to work with clients such as Co-op Digital, Common Good (now Loved By), UNHCR, and Hiring Hub. With his work informing his research into informed consent, developing it into a tangible product was the logical next step.

Stephanie Robinson, Director of Makertopia

Stephanie Robinson is the director of Makertopia, and is a qualified youth worker with a degree in Environmental Social Science. A climate campaigner since the age of fifteen, she has continually looked for ways to creatively engage young people, the public and decision-makers in the noble business of saving the world. Discovering pedal-powered electricity generators at the age of seventeen catalysed a mission to use practical activities to empower and connect climate activists. Leeds Hackspace has proved a pivotal incubator for her work; without the generosity, expertise and friendship of its members, Makertopia would not be where it is today.
