Catholic 60

Are you Catholic, 'around the age of 60' and looking to meet other Catholics? It seems difficult when, in our parishes, the activities are targeted to young adults or families. This is an effort to pull together anyone who is interested in making friends with other Catholics. It is initially entirely online. There will be regularly scheduled Zoom calls while we get to know each other. We are not limiting the group to geographic areas so that we can get a nice momentum going. If we have enough members in a certain geographic area, we'll set up region-specific Zoom calls so that, ideally, members have an opportunity to set up in-person events. But otherwise, how cool would that be to have a fun group of people to chat with every few weeks? :) And by the way, no photos or video calls are required. If you are shy, like I am, you can join this group and enjoy meeting people just on an audio call. As you feel more comfortable, you can switch your Zoom to a video call. We just care about creating momentum among a group of people our age. We don't actually know what we'll discuss on our calls as we don't intend this to be a Bible Study or anything like that. Maybe we share what traditions are being celebrated in our parishes this Advent? Maybe we talk about where we live and what the crazy winter weather is like? All in all, ideally, we will be creating a community - ultimately of friends - who enjoy (virtually) getting together on a regular basis. Hopefully this works. :)
