The Lyceum
A small circle in Amsterdam for men who think carefully and argue well.
We meet around documentaries, for now. One or two are chosen ahead of time; we watch, then we sit down to dinner and take the thing apart. The film is really just an excuse to find out how someone's mind works.
This isn't a drop-in meetup. It's a closed group, kept deliberately small. Membership is paid, but not for me — every thing goes to the dinner table/drinks. You're simply covering (part of) your own seat in advance; I take nothing from it.
If you have your own opinions and enjoy defending them in good company, you'll fit. If you're looking for something casual, this probably isn't it.
