Please note that this is NOT an ice climbing trip. We will not be climbing up vertical ice. We hike a mostly frozen trail system using crampons, ice axes for support and other related gear. No prior experience necessary.

With crampons under your boots and an ice axe in hand, join VTS on this magical winter adventure. Hike frozen trails, explore dozens of natural icy waterfalls and discover spectacular ice formations as you hike through the frozen ravines of the majestic Ricketts Glen State Park in Northeast Pennsylvania.

The Falls Trail that you hike meanders through the Glen's Natural Area, which is a National Natural Monument. The frozen landscape creates glistening ice formations and an awe-inspiring experience unmatched in both the Endless & Pocono Mountains Regions.

This trip transports you to a frozen-in-time winter waterfall wonderland. The guides set safety lines to clip you into at certain sections of the trail as we hike on an ice-packed narrow trail system—it is an incredible experience!

Ganoga Falls, the tallest waterfall, is 94 ft. and when it is icy or frozen you’ll find yourself in an amphitheater of icicles—truly an awe inspiring experience.

The Falls Trail system is closed to the public during the winter, except for those with a permit, crampons, ice axes and rope. That means we will have the trails mostly to ourselves!

IMPORTANT - Please do not just show up at Ricketts Glen without first booking with and receiving a confirmation email from Valley to Summit, LLC. You otherwise won't be permitted on the trip. A RSVP doesn't not reserve a spot.

Cancellation:

• Operator Cancellation:
• If we cancel a trip, you can reschedule, apply your funds to another trip category or request a 100% refund.
• Client Cancellation:
• Full refunds are available if you cancel at least 14 days before the date of your trip.
• For all other cancellations leading up to 3 days before your trip date, you may reschedule this ice hiking season for an additional $25 per ticket, maintain a non-refundable credit and apply your credit to any other VTS trip category (credit for ice hiking would be for next season) or request a partial refund of 20%.
• If you cancel during the 3 days leading up to your trip, you can reschedule this ice hiking season for an additional $40 per ticket or maintain a non-refundable credit and apply your credit to any other VTS trip category (credit for ice hiking would be for next season). No refunds are available.
• No refund, credit or rescheduling options for no-shows and day-of cancellations.
