Regular drop in and free Improvisation Taster classes for people who feel socially anxious and shy.
The sessions are made up of warm-up games and scene-work where we dive into playing characters, connecting with our creativity and foremost connecting with each other.
Improv is about saying yes to each other, suspend your inner critic and promote spontaneity. We make scenes and characters up on the spot, play games and tune into each others' creative minds.
In the spirit of connecting with each other, everyone is welcome. You do not need any acting skills or previous improv experience. We play, like we did when we were kids, without judging ourselves or others.
Please do note that even though Improv can improve your mental health and boost your confidence, the sessions are not a replacement for therapy held by professional therapists. Please do feel free to talk to me about any concerns and questions.
The sessions are designed to be gentle, with easy exercises and light-hearted. There is no pressure to perform.
The lessons are taught by Karolina (that’s me :)) an improviser, actor and improvisation coach with 6 years of improv experience. I have been working as an improv coach for the past 3 years, hosting courses for people who want to perform on stage and people who want to use improv to improve their overall well-being and boost their confidence.
As I have struggled with depression throughout my life, my drop in classes “improv(e) your confidence” are very close to my heart. Improvisation has helped me tremendously in gaining back my sense of self and facing everyday challenges and my own nagging inner judge in a more positive and effective way. Plus it’s a lot of fun and a perfect tool to bond with others. Looking forward to meeting up soon ;)
