Artist Working Group

We meet Monday evenings at 7pm to draw and paint landscapes and nature.

I usually bring a photo to use as reference - but you are welcome to bring one of your own.

Each week, we begin with a critique of recent work (optional 😊). Then - a warm up exercise. Then, we create thumbnails of our composition, find our shadows and light, and decide on our colors. Finally, we draw and paint until the end of the session.

Fee per session is $20. My Venmo link is @lorna-leighton.

Some experience in drawing is helpful.

I usually end the session with a slideshow of an interesting artist.

Materials:

• a sketchbook or bristol or watercolor paper
• a fountain pen (or another kind of pen)
  (I love a Lamy Safari fountain pen)
• color inks or watercolor
  (I love dr. ph martin concentrated watercolor)
• a paintbrush
• 2H or 3H pencil (to lay out our initial composition)

Optional:

• color pencils and/color markers
