Wonder about the universe? Starry summer skies await us. Staff From the U of M will give a short presentation to introduce us to the solar system and the tools astronomers use to study it. As weather permits, we can view the sky through 8-inch reflecting telescopes.
Wear comfortable clothing and bug repellant. Event is free but please register at HERE

Mozart’s epic music comes to a 1950s street corner with a unique mash-up of passionate arias, exciting choruses, 50s doo-wop, and 60s girl groups. This mythical show is full of adventure.
Our adaptation, The Return of King Idomeneo, brings the action to mid-century America, as the neighborhood celebrates the return of its victorious hometown heroes from the long and bloody Trojan War. General Idomeneo has taken hostages from Troy: three brilliant scientists, Hecuba and her daughters Ilia and Cassandra. And Neptune, the vengeful god of the sea, prepares to unleash his sewage monsters.
Bring a water bottle, sunscreen, a folding chair or a blanket for seating on the grass. Indoor, accessible bathrooms are available in the Farm Education Building.
All performances are offered for a suggested donation ($5–$45). Children under 12 are welcome to attend for free.
Come a bit early to set up space to sit. I will be bringing a folding chair to sit in.

Make the stars your old friends as we watch the great celestial show in the skies over Lake Elmo Park Reserve. We'll have giant telescopes aimed at Jupiter and Saturn, as well as star clusters, galaxies, and other great celestial treasures. We'll also check out constellations like the Big Bear, Cygnus the Swan, Pegasus the Winged Horse, and listen to the great stories behind them.
The website says that it is from 8:30 pm until 10 pm. However, when you sign up it says it is from 8 pm to 9:30 pm. I will contact Washington County to make sure of the time.

- $5 per person.
- A Washington County park vehicle permit is required ($7 daily or $30 annually).
