Lizzie Andrew Borden (July 19, 1860 – June 1, 1927) was an upper-class Yankee with Puritan ancestry, born into a wealthy and influential family. After her mother's death when she was a baby, Lizzie and her sister Emma lived with their father and stepmother. The murders of her father and stepmother Andrew and Abby Borden occurred on August 4, 1892 in Fall River, Massachusetts. Lizzie Borden was arrested and tried, but a jury found her not guilty. The case became a sensation in the late 19th century and has remained a subject of fascination, with numerous books, plays, movies, and even a ballet based on the events.
Despite the acquittal, the case is still considered one of the most famous unsolved murders in American history. The case remains unsolved and Lizzie's life continues to intrigue.
