Details

Han Kang, the first South Korean, won Nobel Prize for literature in 2024. The prize statement says “for her intense poetic prose that confronts historical traumas and exposes the fragility of human life”.

The novel, The Vegetarian which won the Man Booker International Prize in 2016 charts a young woman’s attempt to live a more “plant-like” existence after suffering macabre nightmares about human cruelty.

Some of her work available in translations are, The Vegetarian, Greek Lessons, Human Acts, The White Book.

We use the chance to read the work of the author and discuss the works.
