What weโre about
Dubliners: Joys of Reading ๐โจ
Welcome to Dubliners, a cozy haven for those who find solace in stories. Here, we come together not just to read, but to immerse ourselves in the narratives that shape our lives. Each book becomes a doorway, and our vibrant discussions transform into journeys through the realms of fiction and non-fiction, blending imagination with our shared experiences.
As the day unfolds, we venture into Dublinโs literary heartbeat, attending book launches, engaging plays, poetry slams and irrestible conversations. A great time!
Join us at Dubliners, where each story enriches our bond and invites you into a community that celebrates the joy of reading together! ๐

- ๐ Silent Reading & Socialising ๐บSt Stephen's Green, Dublin
The title of the event is a paradox! Read in silence and then discuss with like-minded folks! :-)
For the first part of the event, we'll gather in St. Stephen's Green Park at 5:00 PM near the James Joyce Statue, then find a spot to sit and read in silence for an hour. You can bring a Kindle, physical book, phone, or laptop to read. During this hour, each person will read their own material without conversation.
After an hour, at 6:00 PM, we'll gather and walk to Bartley's where you can discuss and socialize about the book you're reading in the park or something you've read earlier.
Feel free to join at any point during the event.
The Dublin weather is full of surprises and spontaneity. We've all had enough experiences with that by now!
Helpful Tips and Notes
- Bring headphones to block out surrounding noise
- Bring an outdoor sitting mat or sheet to protect your clothes
- I will post a comment on the event page when I arrive to indicate where we're seated so everyone can find us
- In case of rain, we'll meet directly at the bar at 5:00 PM - look out for updates in the comments
- If you prefer to skip the silent reading, you can join directly at the bar at 6:00 PM and vice-versa.
- Even though there are two locations, the primary event location is St. Stephen's Green since we'll meet there first
Looking forward to meeting you all ๐
