Meet People Without Overthinking It
Details
A therapist-led workshop for university students
Do you replay conversations afterwards, worry about how you came across, or hold back because you’re unsure what to say? This small-group session is for London university students who’d like to feel more at ease in social situations.
Led by a certified therapist. The session combines a short explanation of how fear of judgment can affect social situations followed by supported, step-by-step practice. You’ll identify one prediction you’d like to test, try a few short paired activities at your own pace, and reflect on what you noticed.
There’s no pressure to share personal details or speak to the whole room. You can pause or pass on any activity. The group is limited to 10–14 students only, and coming on your own is encouraged. We’ll meet you at the entrance and send clear directions and a photo beforehand.
Your £10 ticket includes the therapist-led workshop and guided activities, Pizza, and venue hire.
When: Tuesday 27 October, 6pm
Where: Near King’s Cross station
Group size: 10–14 only
Price: £10 per person
The guided session ends at around 7:30pm. You are welcomed to stay afterwards and chat!
A note from the hosts
We know how it can feel to seem fine on the outside while replaying conversations or wondering how you came across. We’re hosting this to create a welcoming space to explore those moments and practise connecting with others at your own pace.
Mandana is a computational neuroscientist and founded Alena, which developed and clinically tested interventions for social anxiety. Bertie founded MyTutor and has spent much of his career building experiences for students and young adults.
This is our first small-group event. We’re planning a follow-up soon for anyone who’d like to continue.
