About us
Trial by Fire — Fire Circle | Movement Meditation Arts on O'ahu
Where flame becomes movement and movement becomes ceremony.
About Us
Trial by Fire is O'ahu's cross-disciplinary movement arts community. We spin fire — but the circle is bigger than that. We're poets and DJs, musicians and yogis, dancers and holistic facilitators. The fire circle is where our different mediums meet: a staff spinning to a live set, a spoken word piece landing between burns, a sound bath bleeding into a slow flow, a beat dropping while fans paint the dark.
What to Expect
Fire spinning: poi, staff, fans, dragon, fire eating, and more
Live music, DJ sets, and open mic moments
Yoga, breathwork, and movement flows
Spoken word, slam poetry, and storytelling
Skill shares, prop swaps, and beginner-friendly teaching
Some nights lean performance. Some lean practice. All of it is held with intention.
Who This Is For
Seasoned spinners, curious first-timers, working artists, and quiet witnesses. If you've ever wanted to try fire — or share your own art alongside people who'll actually see it — you belong here. Props to borrow. Safeties on hand. Teachers ready when you are.
Community Guidelines (Please Read Before RSVPing)
Consent is the ground we stand on. Ask before you touch, photograph, or step into someone's space. "No" is a complete sentence and is always honored.
Substance-free space. No alcohol, no cocaine, no ketamine. We're here for presence, not escape.
The fire circle is working space. Stay outside the perimeter unless you're spinning, or on safety. Tie back long hair, wear natural fibers, no loose or synthetic clothing near flame.
Respect the props, the fuel, and the people handling both. Want to try something new? Ask. We love teaching — we just don't love surprises near the fire.
Leave it better than you found it. Pack out what you pack in. Look after each other.

Sunday Fire Circle
Barefoot Beach Cafe, 2699 Kalakaua Ave, Honolulu, HI, US### 🔥 Sunday Fire Circle — Queen's Beach Park (by Barefoot Beach Cafe)
Always free. Always open to watchers. No pressure, no cost — just come.
End your weekend the way it deserves to end. We gather on the grass at Queen's Beach Park, right by Barefoot Beach Cafe, where the sun sets behind Waikiki and the ocean keeps time. Grab a coffee or a bite from Barefoot, find a soft patch of grass, and settle in.
This is O'ahu's cross-disciplinary movement arts community — fire dancers, poets, musicians, DJs, yogis, holistic facilitators, and friends. Come spin. Come share a piece. Come stretch, drum, sing, or just witness the circle come alive against the dusk. The Flow of the Night
