Pasture Finished Rabbit Workshop

Details

The primary goal for the farm is to get 20-30 rabbits ready and sent to freezer camp. Warning this means rabbits will die in your presence if your not okay with that you should not attend even though we use the most human dispatch method we believe there is. This is a pasture finished rabbit business first and teaching platform second so keep that in mind during the event. The young fryers must be done by farm staff as they’re going to be used for human consumption. If time permits we have some cull breeders that will be used to make dog food (think farmers dog but better). Since these are not for humans and if time permits we can allow some hands on for those who aren’t faint hearted. The fryers will be available for purchase if you want to see if you like rabbit. They will also have some young rabbits for sale if you’d like to start your own rabbitry (silver fox / amercian chinchilla). There should be plenty of time for general discussion about breeds, housing, feed, etc during the fryer processing. From a preparedness standpoint this is a hugely transferable skill you can use for small or larger mammals.
