Effective Altruism Chicago - Lightning Book Summaries 2/17
Details
We all have those books that changed how we think, but we rarely get the chance to share those insights with friends. Let’s change that!
Join us for Lightning Book talks, a relaxed evening where we share the best bits from a non-fiction book (preferably effective altruism related) you've read recently. The goal isn't to give a formal book report—it’s to share one or two "aha!" moments that you think others would find interesting.
How it works:
- Pick a non-fiction book you’ve read (recently or years ago). The more EA related the better!
- The Lowdown: You get 5 minutes to tell us the "TL;DR"—what was it about, and what’s the coolest thing you learned? We'll discuss after.
- The Hangout: We’ll chat about the ideas over some vegan food and drinks.
No pressure to be an expert! If you haven't read anything lately, just come to hang out and grab some recommendations for your nightstand. Doors Open at 6 but likely won't start the talks until 7!
