Join us for outdoor Volleyball games hosted around the San Bernardino/Riverside area!
This group intends to host COMPETITIVE and friendly volleyball games of the Intermediate to Advanced skill range, with clinics for Beginners. Full descriptions of skill ratings are as follows:
C - Novice
B - Low Intermediate
BB - Mid Intermediate
A - High Intermediate
AA+ - Advanced/High Collegiate
C: Players who are still developing their fundamentals including passing, setting, and hitting. Players in this category may lack basic knowledge of the game including game rules and player positions, and are often 50/50 or less when it comes to passing a basic underhand serve. "I've watched some Haikyuu. But what is peppering again?"
B: Players who have learned the basics, but not mastered their fundamentals. B players are able to pass basic downballs, give good sets on a good pass, and hit the ball for a kill (without a block) more than 50% of the time. "I know what a Libero is! Just don't ask me about rotations."
BB: Players who have a good grasp on fundamentals, but do not have "court vision" or "Volleyball IQ". BB Players are consistent with their passing, setting, and hitting around 8/10 times in games underneath the advanced level. If you're BB, you can hit the 10ft line during hitting lines with a perfect set, but may be 50/50 with a 9ft single block during the game, and can be regularly blocked or forced to tip or roll on a shorter double block. "Oh yeah, I watch Nikolov's highlights. It's always the setter's fault."
A: Players who have mastered their fundamentals and have developed good court vision, but may lack the athleticism and deep understanding of the game to reach the Advanced level. A Players will get the kill 99% of the time on a single block in a 6s court, have the ability to hit around a double block 60% or more of the time, and can bounce on or within the 10ft during a game with a perfect set. Likely have multiple prior tournament wins. *"Karch Kiraly is the GOAT. It's always the hitter's fault."
AA+: College level players. You play for UCI? You sure you in the right place?
AA+ Players are likely 6ft+, have 30in+ verticals, and have out of this world power with excellent IQ. "Oh yeah, I've made it into an AVP bracket before. We love playing in the Orange County Crown Open every year."
