Book Discussion #8: Peace is Every Breath
Details
Welcome to the 8th meeting of the Thich Nhat Hanh book club!
Before our meeting, please read to the end of the book "Peace is Every Breath," by Thich Nhat Hanh. Note an excerpt from the book that is meaningful for you and that you would like to share. If you have any questions about the reading you would like the group to discuss, feel free to bring those too.
If you weren't able to make it to our previous meetings, no worries! You can join our group anytime, as long as you have read the pages. This is a great time to join, since we are reading a shorter book!
Please bring the book with you, if possible. You can find it at the Parallax Press website:
Peace is Every Breath is also available on Amazon, Audible, and at some public libraries, in print, digital, and audio formats. If you need financial assistance with obtaining a copy, please let the organizer know and one will be provided.
Here's a description of the book from Parallax Press:
"In this much-anticipated follow-up to his bestselling classic, Peace Is Every Step, Thich Nhat Hanh—one of the most revered spiritual leaders in the world today—offers an insightful guide to living a fuller life. In this deeply insightful meditation, the world-renowned Vietnamese Zen Buddhist master, poet, scholar, and peace activist illuminates how each of us can incorporate the practice of mindfulness into our every waking moment. In the tradition of The Art of Happiness and Living Buddha, Living Christ, Thich Nhat Hanh’s Peace Is Every Breath opens a pathway to greater spiritual fulfillment through its patient examination of how we live our lives."
We meet every 3-4 weeks.
Feel free to bring an optional snack for after the book discussion.
After Peace is Every Breath, we will be reading We Were Made for These Times, by Kaira Jewel Lingo, who was a nun in the Plum Village Tradition. You may want to get a copy soon so you have enough time to read the first few chapters before the following book club meeting in late August.
All book club meetings are free of charge.
May you have peace.
