topic: Mystery, Meaning, and What We Do With the Unknown
Many of us have had experiences that felt supernatural, unusual, powerful, or difficult to fully explain.
For some, those experiences come with a clear interpretation.
For others, the meaning remains open.
For some, interpretations shift over time.
In this conversation, we are not trying to settle what any particular experience “really” was. We are also not asking anyone to dilute or defend their perspective.
Instead, we will explore:
• What kinds of experiences challenge our understanding?
• How do we arrive at our interpretations?
• What influences whether we feel certain, uncertain, or somewhere in between?
• What role do culture, upbringing, science, faith, psychology, or personal history play in how we make sense of events?
When something exceeds our current explanation, what happens next?
We will examine both certainty and uncertainty without elevating one over the other.
Is “not knowing” a weakness, or a strength?
Is “knowing” an anchor, or sometimes a shortcut?
When does each serve us well?
Participants are invited to share experiences only if they wish. Listening is equally valued. The goal is exploration, not persuasion.
