About us

Curiosity Club is for people who enjoy good conversation as much as a good meal or drink.

The idea is simple: meet regularly at a local pub, get to know the same friendly faces, and explore interesting topics together. One week we might be discussing history, psychology, true crime, science or philosophy; the next it could be travel, current events, books, archaeology, technology, or one of life's big questions.

You don't need to be an expert, just curious. This isn't a debate club or a lecture. It's a relaxed, respectful space where people can ask questions, share ideas, change their minds, laugh, make friends and enjoy conversations that go beyond the usual small talk.

Whether you're new to Brisbane, looking to expand your social circle, or simply miss having thought-provoking conversations, you're very welcome.

Curiosity Club at the Pub: First Gathering

This is the first gathering of Curiosity Club - a relaxed, informal meetup for people who enjoy good conversation and meeting others through ideas.
We’ll be meeting at a pub in West End for an easy, low-pressure evening. The goal is simple: to create a regular space where people can talk about interesting topics, share perspectives, and build a friendly community over time.

### What to expect

We’ll start with casual introductions as people arrive, then move into group conversation around a few light prompts to get things going. From there, the discussion will flow naturally.
Topics might include history, psychology, science, books, philosophy, current events, mysteries, or whatever people bring to the table. There’s no need for expertise, just curiosity.

### What to bring

Just yourself. A drink or food is optional. Curiosity is the only requirement.

### Who it’s for

This is for people who enjoy thoughtful conversation in a relaxed social setting and want to meet others in a consistent, low-pressure environment.
It is not a debate club or a lecture series. The focus is on respectful conversation, not winning arguments.

### Finding the group

We’ll be seated at a table under the name Curiosity Club (or similar booking name if required). If you can’t find us, just ask the venue staff or message via Meetup and we’ll help you locate the group.

### A note on the first meetup

This is a pilot gathering. The format will evolve based on what works best for the group, so feedback and suggestions are welcome.
