Walkway Over the Hudson

Details

Join us on a beautiful walk over the Hudson River.
We will be meeting at Poughkeepsie station on the Metro North (Hudson line).
There is a train departing grand central at 11:45am and arriving at Poughkeepsie at 1:42pm. Once you get off of the train you will see myself and others get off as well. From there we will walk to the beginning of the Walkway over the Hudson(~ 18 min walk) and we will meet anyone who drove and parked their car at the beginning of the walkway.

The Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park—the longest pedestrian bridge in the world at just over 1.6 miles—emerges from the trees and over the rooftops of the old riverfront town of Poughkeepsie, crosses the vast Hudson River, and touches down in the hamlet of Highland on the west side of the river. -Traillink.com

1.6 miles each way on the bridge
+
0.8 miles each way from the bridge to the train

4.8 miles total

For the walkers who are itching for perfection, including myself sometimes, we will make the half way point at the Rail Trail Caboose giving us 0.1 miles more walking each way and totaling our walk at an even 5 miles!
