About us
You’re invited to try dragon boating, a team canoeing sport for fun and or competition. Adaptive Fusion is a very diverse group of people, some with challenges and some without. We are currently practicing on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:30 AM to 11 AM, and would love to have you join us.
We provide personal flotation devices (pfds) and paddles and show you the basic strokes. Then we get on the water and have some fun!. Don’t worry, the plan is always to stay on top of the water, although you may get your feet wet when loading the boat. All fitness levels welcome.
Our mission is to promote Paradragon paddling and to race at the highest levels of competition. Some of our members just competed at the 17th World Dragon Boat Racing Championships in Germany. Our next local race will be at Santa Fe Dam on October 4th. Come out and see if you love this sport as much as we do, and if you practice a few times, and with the coach's approval, maybe you will be racing too!
It is important to RSVP before you come out so we can make sure we have room and so we can balance the boat. Please contact Mary at (770) 778-8154 (Long Beach, CA) or email us at adaptivefusion@gmail.com

Adaptive Fusion Invites You to Try Dragon Boating
Mothers Beach, 5800 E Appian Way, Long Beach, CA, USIt's going to be a beautiful day at the beach and a perfect time for you and a friend to learn how to Dragon Boat. That's a large canoe that fits up to 20 people, with two people on a bench. It's people-powered - we all paddle at the same time to get the boat up and moving.
Our dragon boat is open to people with challenges like being blind, Deaf, an amputee, having PTSD, or other hidden challenges, as well as support paddlers. We welcome anyone 16 or older. Veterans are especially welcome.
We will provide you with the equipment you will need. We do some warmups and then are on the water for just over an hour. We bring up the boat, clean and cover it. After this practice, some of us will go out to lunch right afterwards and nearby.
Please make sure to RSVP so we can save you a seat. Email adaptivefusiondragons@gmail.com or text (770) 778-8154.
Fill out this waiver BEFORE coming to Mother's Beach.
http://tiny.cc/scdbcwaiverYes, it may be a little cool to start with, so bring a jacket. Your feet may get wet, as we load from the beach, so bring water shoes or something that can be washed off. Also, bring a bottle of water please.
