Diving into Aeron Messaging

Aeron is behind some of the highest demanding systems such as Trading Platforms. In this talk, learn about how Aeron messaging works and some design principles that makes it so performant.

We will dig into the details of Aeron Messaging including persistent and non-persistent messaging.

To better understand how the main components work, we will compare the feature set with gRPC and Apache Kafka and examine the strengths and weaknesses of each. Included in this will be some benchmarks to show the relative performance and hopefully some insight into why we built Aeron.

Finally we look at the design principles behind Aeron and how they have influenced the final implementation.
