Take a break from screens and reconnect with the present moment. The 24-Hour Digital Detox Challenge invites you to step away from your phone, computer, TV, and other digital devices for a full day. Instead, focus on mindfulness, creativity, and real-life interactions. This experience can help reduce stress, improve focus, and enhance your well-being.
Guidelines for the Digital Detox
Before the Detox
- Set an Intention – Identify why you want to unplug. Is it to reduce stress, be more present, or simply take a break?
- Inform Others – Let friends, family, and colleagues know you’ll be offline for 24 hours. Set up an autoresponder if needed.
- Plan Alternative Activities – Prepare books, outdoor activities, board games, journaling prompts, or creative projects.
- Create a Tech-Free Space – Store your devices in a designated place to remove temptation.
During the Detox
- Avoid All Screens – No phones, social media, TV, gaming, or computer use.
- Engage in Offline Activities – Read, exercise, cook, go for a walk, meditate, or spend quality time with loved ones.
- Journal Your Experience – Write down your thoughts, emotions, and any insights you have throughout the day.
- Practice Mindfulness – Pay attention to your surroundings, your breathing, and the people around you.
After the Detox
- Reflect on Your Experience – How did you feel? What did you notice about your habits?
- Reintroduce Technology Mindfully – Consider keeping some of your detox habits, such as limiting notifications or scheduling screen-free time daily.
Optional Post-Detox Zoom Call (Monday, 28th 8pm)
Join a group call to share your experiences with others who took the challenge. Discuss the challenges, insights, and benefits of going screen-free. This is a great opportunity to connect, get inspired, and learn how to integrate healthier tech habits into daily life.
