New critique group forming

Details

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST! Thanks for considering the group. [TheWritersStudio@yahoo.com](http://mailto:TheWritersStudio@yahoo.com/). We are a brand-new group. There are no meetings scheduled yet. The first phase will be building a base of solid experienced writers and/or published authors. Contact me at the above email address with all inquiries. Let's talk!
How our critique group will work: All works will be submitted to the above email. I will then disseminate those stories to all the group members’ emails at least a week before. The members then print out the stories, read them, and make notations and comments. Members should prepare to speak on the story they critiqued. Submissions should be in common fonts (Ariel, Calibri or Times New Roman) with numbered double line spacing.
We will be meeting in my house in a nice neighborhood in Seminole. There are parking spaces approximately 100 feet from my house. You will be okay to park.
At this point, I’m planning to meet on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month from 6:30 to 8:30 PM.
I do not plan on taking submissions for poetry, flash fiction, or screenplays at this point. We will be strictly nonfiction and fiction prose. The maximum size of submissions will be approximately 3,000 words. At the risk of stating the obvious, we will not critique anything political, grandstanding, etc.
The critique format will be simple:
We will go clockwise around the table critiquing a writer’s work. The writer may or may not want someone to read half a page first. During the critiques, the writer will not speak. Of course, there are no hard and fast rules regarding this but there is a difference between interruption and necessary interjection. Burning questions can be asked, but generally, the writer listens until everyone has critiqued their work. Afterward, they ask questions or offer feedback.
I’m sure I’m missing a ton here. We are brand new. Please, please contact me if you have questions or if you have suggestions.
