What we're about

Entrepreneurship permeates the culture of Silicon Valley - the innovation capital of the world. The advent of the Digital Age has democratized innovation and entrepreneurship. Never before has it been more possible for anyone from anywhere, with a great idea and a burning desire to succeed, to make it big, and in the process, change the world in a relatively short period of time.

HP, Intel, Apple, Microsoft, Cisco, Oracle, Yahoo, eBay, Amazon, Google, Facebook and many, many, many other iconic companies all started with just an idea. Taking a startup from idea to IPO has taken on mythical proportions in Silicon Valley and beyond. Many dream the dream, with hopes of launching the "next big thing". We are a community of entrepreneurs, technologists, engineers, venture capitalists, angel investors, educators, financial professionals, corporate executives, attorneys, academics, bloggers, writers, content creators, and social activists.

Our mission is to provide entrepreneurs with the knowledge, guidance, tools, and connections they need to succeed. Our goal is to build a strong, vibrant, collaborative entrepreneurial community with deep, lasting business and social relationships from Silicon Valley to Ho Chi Minh City and beyond.

About the Speakers:

Nick Bravante

Nick Bravante is a two-time entrepreneur, product developer, and project manager. He has built companies in industries ranging from algorithmic trading to automotive hardware, executed complex commercial real estate deals, and led operations for an engineering firm.

Today, he is an integral part of GSD Venture Studios and drives progress for their partners on both a micro and macro level. As VP of Programs for GSD Labs, Nick assists with every aspect of venture building, from sales and marketing strategy to program coordination/leadership, and especially copywriting of materials for member companies.

Prior to GSD, Nick led a team that identified a pattern in the stock market and coordinated research, software development, and back testing to develop a trading algorithm. He also worked as a commercial real estate broker and lead transactions across Northern New Jersey, including a 100-unit apartment development which sold for $27.5m. Nick also worked as an operations manager for a fire protection design and installation firm, coordinating complex life safety projects.
For fun, Nick revived an automotive hardware brand that catered to the vintage Porsche market. He attended Loyola University in Maryland where he majored in business and specialized in law.

Based in New Jersey, Nick spends his free time surfing big waves and automotive racing. He believes that the chaos of these pursuits dilutes the chaos of daily life and venture building, enabling a calm and measured approach to any challenge.
