### Sailing on Lake Zurich — in a welcoming community

Join a friendly, international sailing community in Zurich where the focus is simple: spend time on the lake, meet great people, and enjoy the outdoors together. No experience is needed, and everyone is welcome. We usually sail from Meilen or Mythenquai on a 25-foot sailboat (up to 6 people), creating a relaxed and social atmosphere from the very beginning.

### A community, not a course

This is a space designed especially for expats looking to connect, unwind, and try something new. Sailing is the setting—but the real value comes from the people, the shared moments, and the experience on the water.
There are no memberships, no complicated structure, and no pressure. Just easy access to a beautiful activity, with low barriers and reasonable costs.
You’ll be gently introduced to sailing if you’re new, and naturally involved from the start—without expectations or formal training.

### What the experience feels like

Each outing is a mix of light activity, social time, and enjoying the lake. Sometimes we sail actively, sometimes we drift, swim, chat, and enjoy a drink while watching the sunset.
Wind on Lake Zurich is unpredictable—so we embrace whatever the day brings. If there’s wind, we sail. If not, we still have a great time on the water. The experience always comes first.

### Important for joining

Please arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled start time.
This is:

• Not a tourist cruise
• Not a sailing course

Beginners are very welcome and will be looked after, but the focus is on shared experience rather than instruction.
After signing up, please text 078 868 59 21.
Spots are limited and demand is high—participants who don’t confirm proactively may be moved to the waiting list.
A Meetup sign-up alone does not guarantee your place.
You are confirmed once you’ve been added to the event-specific WhatsApp group.

### What to bring

No experience or special equipment is needed.
Please bring:

• Sport shoes with white or non-marking soles
• Water
• Comfortable outdoor clothing (layers work best)
• A jacket for wind or changing weather
• Sunscreen, sunglasses, hat
• A towel
• Swimwear

Optional:
Gloves (cycling or fitness gloves are fine)

### Costs

The boat rental is shared among participants.
Usually around 40–60 CHF per person, depending on group size and duration.
Payment is made by twint after sign-up confirmation

### Weather & flexibility

We go out even if wind is low—conditions can change quickly, and light wind sailing is still enjoyable.
We only cancel in case of:

• Continuous rain
• Thunderstorms

If you can’t make it, please cancel as early as possible (at least 24 hours before) so others can join.

### A few extras

When possible, the skipper may bring some beers, wine, or snacks to share. Swimming stops are common when conditions allow.
Photos are part of the experience, and you’ll often get great memories from the day—including optional portraits on request (with your consent).
By joining, you agree that photos may be used on social media. If you prefer not to be photographed, just let it be known.

### About your skipper

MilanoKapitano is based in Switzerland since 2009, runs the community in his free time since 2020 and combines a background in tourism with a passion for sailing and bringing people together.
He holds:

• Swiss D license for lakes
• RYA Day Skipper certification

Regular participants may be prioritised.

PS. When conditions are great and time and energy levels allow or in the case of unexpected incidents, the tour may take longer than announced. Out of experience kindly leave some buffer for your return time and don't commit to fixed arrangements straight after sailing, thank you very much.
