FIFE Coastal Path walk #8 Kirkcaldy to Dysart

Details

Another shorter stage to allow for evening activities.
Meet at Hill Street in Dysart (Dysart, Kirkcaldy KY1 2XP) to catch the 10:15am bus to Kirkcaldy.
The walk will start at the Kirkcaldy Bus station at 10:30am.

  • Leaving Kirkcaldy, you'll generally follow paved paths or good gravel tracks.
  • The path becomes a bit more rugged and natural as you pass Seafield Tower, where it follows the shoreline or slightly elevated grassy/dirt paths.
  • Approaching Ravenscraig Park and the castle, you'll find well-maintained paths within the parkland. There can be some short, steeper sections or steps around the castle area as the path navigates the cliffs.
  • From Ravenscraig to Dysart, the path continues along the coastline, sometimes elevated on clifftop paths, sometimes dropping down closer to the shore. The surface is typically good, a mix of paved, gravel, or compacted earth.
