Ulysses - James Joyce - Chapters 4 & 5 (Calypso & Lotus Eaters)

Ulysses reading group!

We will be reading chapters 4 (Calypso) and 5 (Lotus Easter). This is about 30 pages in total. Chapter 6 starts with 'Martin Cunningham...", so we will be reading up to that point.

Brief Overview

In Chapter 4 we meet the second protagonist of the novel, Leopold Bloom. He is the most relatable (as in he thinks less like an artiste) of the characters.
We first encounter Poldy at home cooking breakfast, before he makes his way to the butcher. Following sustenance, Poldy heads to a funeral (in Chapter 5).
