What we’re about
Do you enjoy biking, meeting new people, and seeing new places? I am the organizer for the Monroeville Bicycling Group on Meetup and we will bike all the rails-to-trails in Western PA. We will have lots of fun, meet many really nice people, get some exercise, and see lots of very beautiful places. We can have lunch at a nice restaurant at the end of the trail if you desire. This is a group for all ages and all abilities so don’t be shy. Some of us bike hard and others take it easy but, we always “meetup” along the way. You will never feel lost or left behind. Check us out and join our group; you will not be disappointed. You will have the opportunity to have fun and excitement every Sunday morning. Jack

- GAP Trail from Smithton GAP Parking to ConnellsvilleNeeds location
Weather permitting we are going to bike the Great Allegheny PassageTrail from Smithton GAP Parking to Connellsville, and then have lunch and entertainment at the Renaissance Festival at Hunker, PA The trail is 38 miles round trip, so lunch will be a fantastic reward at the end of the day. Of course, we do not have to do the entire 38 miles. We will meet at the parking lot at Smithton.

The trail is well maintained, very scenic, and not very difficult. It follows the Youghiogheny River so the change in elevation is slight. You won't be disappointed. Helmets and sunscreen are recommended.
As always, we will not be in a race to get to the finish line; we will be looking to have fun biking the trail. You can ride at your own pace because we will always “Meetup” along the trail. Nobody is ever left behind. Some ride leisurely and others are more aggressive but we will not be competing. Our goal is to meet new friends, see nature at its finest, get lots of great exercise, and maybe a tasty lunch too. Join us and put some fun into your life.
