Camping and Horses

Join us for a weekend of Camping at Cowan Lake State Park, Wilmington OH. The 700-acre lake has a 10-horsepower limit perfect for paddling and fishing (license required). There are 8 miles of hiking trails rated from easy to moderate with some trail heads in the campground. The park also offers a camp store, large swimming beach and plenty of park roads to bicycle.

One mile from the State Park is the World Equestrian Center. This weekend they will be hosting an Arabian Sport Horse Championship Show. This includes dressage, hunters and sport horse division classes.

Friday evening we'll gather for games and campfire. Saturday we'll go on a mid/late morning paddle or hike then head to the Equestrian Center to watch the horses in the afternoon. Saturday evening it will be back around the campfire for a group potluck dinner and activities. Activity schedule may change due to weather.
All activities are optional, but we hope you choose to participate.

Electric Camping sites are $31.00 per night plus $6.50 online reservation fee. 3 tents or 1 camper and 2 tents, max of 6 people per site. 2 Vehicles per site. If you wish to share a site, please post in the Comments section. You must make your own reservations at RESERVEOHIO. either online or by phone. We will be in section 110-130.
