What we’re about

This group is led by the Boston Society of Civil Engineers Section (BSCES) Outreach Committee, a group of volunteers who share a passion for engineering and education. Members of our group are STEM professionals/college students/educators from all over New England.

Our goal is to introduce kids to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) professions including Civil Engineering, and encourage kids to appreciate the built and natural environments in which they live.

We work with kids of all ages and backgrounds, inspire them through hands-on fun activities designed to open their minds.

Our volunteers organize a variety of competitions, events, Bridge Tours, a TV show, participate on STEM events and visit schools all around New England (see our website for details! https://www.bsces.org/outreach-advocacy/out...).

This program really is about helping kids. Their safety is our number one priority. We suggest volunteers complete a free child sexual abuse prevention training (https://www.fliptheswitchcampaign.org/).&nb...; The course is short, very informative, and eye opening!

This group is both for volunteers and for educators looking for our assistance/programs.  We use this group to announce upcoming activities, post needs for volunteers, help schools find mentors, and a wide range of other volunteer networking efforts.  Please join us!
