Trip to Dongyanshan peak/ National Forest Recreation Area (東眼山）

Dongyanshan National Forest Recreational Area is situated in Taoyuan City's Fuxing District. The entire recreational area spans an area of almost 1,000 hectares, which includes the spectacular view of a 300-hectare cedar forest. The highest point in the park is the 1,212-meter "Dongyan Mountain". From the peak of the mountain, visitors can see the breathtaking view of all nearby mountain ranges, Taoyuan, Sanxia, and the Tamsui River; it is also a good location to enjoy the night lights in Taoyuan. There are a lot of tall trees, so there is a lot of shade in our path; therefore, the weather will not be that hot.

##### Dongyanshan Tickets:

Tickets can be bought from the front gate, and as of 2023, the highest full-price ticket is NT$100.

We will take High speed rail train to Taoyuan HSR station, and then take the 501 bus to Daxi bus station. From Daxi Terminal station (桃園客運大溪總站) we will take the 506 bus to Dongyanshan entrance. It is crucial to arrive at Daxi Terminal station before 11:00 AM, otherwise there will be no more buses to take. There are other ways to get to Daxi; you are free to decide whether you want to meet us at the HSR train station or go to Daxi on your own.

Your other options:
By Train (1) Take route 5096 at Taoyuan Bus Taoyuan Station (a 10-minute walk from TRA Taoyuan Station towards the rear exit) to Daxi Station. Then transfer to Dongyanshan route of Taiwan Tourist Shuttle.
(2) Take route 5098 at the rear exit of TRA Zhongli Station (a 10-minute walk from the rear exit of TRA Zhongli Station) to Daxi station. Then transfer to Dongyanshan route of Taiwan Tourist Shuttle.
By Taipei MRT. Take route 710 outside MRT Yongning station to Daxi station and transfer to Dongyanshan route of Taiwan Tourist Shuttle.

BUS INFO (from Daxi):
Taiwan Tourist Shuttle 【506】Dongyanshan route: From Daxi(Weekdays)08:00、11:00、15:00/(Weekends)08:00、09:00、11:00、14:30、15:00。From Dongyanshan (Weekdays)09:30、13:00、17:00/(Weekends)09:30、12:00、13:00、16:15、17:00(The drop-off point is outside the ticket gate of Dongyanshan, and the boarding point is at the large parking lot inside Dongyanshan.)

Schedule:
9:41 am - arrive at Taoyuan HSR station
10:00 am - take the 501 bus
10:41 am - arrive at Daxi Terminal station
11:00 am - take the 506 bus
12:10 pm- arrive at Dongyanshan Entrance

Return:
16:15 pm - take the 506 bus
17:25pm - arrive at Daxi
(You can then take bus 501 to Taoyuan HSR station or other available buses to Yinge station, your choice)

Bring: water, sunscreen, umbrella, lunch or snack, taxi money, entrance to Dongyanshan money (NT 100).

In case of hard rain = it will be announced & canceled
