Walking Fengqi Sunset Trail + Hsinchu coastal walk (Nanliao)
Details
Escaping Taipei’s bad weather, we’re heading south for a relaxed coastal walk in Hsinchu. We’ll take the train 1147 and arrive at Xinfeng Station (新豐車站) in Hsinchu and start walking toward the coast via the Fengqi Sunset Trail, an easy and scenic path that gradually opens up into wider views and fresh sea air.
Before reaching Nanliao Beach, we’ll follow coastal paths and cross several bridges, including roadway bridges and smaller local crossings over canals and waterways. These sections add variety to the walk and offer changing perspectives of the coastline and nearby neighborhoods.
After crossing the bridges, we’ll arrive at Nanliao Beach (南寮海邊) and continue walking along the shoreline, enjoying open sea views, ocean breezes, and hopefully much better weather than Taipei. The walk finishes near Sanxingqiao Station (三姓橋車站).
According to the weather forecast there are chances of little drizzle. We keep going because the path is not dangerous if is wet, only a far distance.
