Shenandoah Mountain Trail
Confederate Breastworks Interpretive Site, 2775 US-250, West Augusta, VA, USThis is a moderate hike of 8.5 mi with 988 ft of elevation gain (it would be an easy hike other than the distance). We will walk out the first four and a quarter miles of the long Shenandoah Mountain Trail.
The trail is generally even and well maintained for all of this segment, with only a few slightly narrow parts. With the trees bare there are excellent views down both sides of the ridge.

Leashed dogs are very welcome!
Cell service may be limited. Please make sure you know where it is ahead of time. If you have any problem with the starting location in Meetup, you can find it on Google Maps or Alltrails.
