Seattle Vegans Book Club - Simon Blackburn's "Think"

Details

We will be reading Simon Blackburn's Think, a thorough and accessible introduction to philosophy. This is the first session of a potential book club series on philosophy - I'm still gauging interest. For now, I think an introduction to philosophy will be an interesting topic for people interested in animal ethics, and will hopefully spark a good conversation.

Think is about 300 pages, but the format is quite readable. I recommend aiming for ~10 pages per day (or ~80 pages each weekend), but don't worry if you don't finish—you're still welcome to join the discussion!

Hope to see you there!

For any questions, email me at sccunin@gmail.com. I am more responsive there than on here, but I will try my best to check here sporadically.

Note: This meeting is for people who are already vegan. If you're not yet vegan but are interested, message me—I’ll be happy to share resources on how to go vegan. Once you're vegan, you are welcome to join us. The transition is doable in the span of a weekend, and more than doable in the span of a month.
