Italy's territory was one of the original entry points of playing cards, that arrived on the continent from North Africa. It has many regional patterns, probably more than any other country in the World. This evening is to honour some of the cards and games that Italy brought to card games.

As usual, join us between 6PM and 10PM, to get your fix of interesting card games, played with some exotic packs. Beginners are more than welcome!

Based on player numbers, we'll be aiming for 2 or 3 tables. Our main aim will be to play some of the most popular traditional card games that also lean towards the slightly more skilful, like Scopone and Tressette. Briscola Chiamata is a possibility in case of 5 players. With odd numbers, Calabresella, this 3 player version of Tressette can also be expected.

If time and interest permits, some more obscure games like the Venetian Madrasso or the Bresciane Cicera Bigia will be visited, and for the scopa-heads, the Genoan Cirulla might be of interest.
