Hike the Ape Caves

Let’s explore Ape Caves at Mt St Helens! We will meet at Fred Meyer in Lacey (Pacific and Sleater Kinney) at 8:00 am. Leave by 8:30 am. Car pool if possible to st Helen’s. We will do the family friendly hike so moderate difficulty and .75 miles each way, 1.5 miles round trip. We can hike from 11-1pm, we can bring snacks and things to eat for the day or bring things for a picnic if people want to extend the day out a bit. Reservations are required per car, not per person and can be made 3 days in advance. It’s free to walk the cave but have to have a park pass for the car. You will need to bring warm clothes as the caves average about 40 degrees. Wear good hiking shoes and bring a flashlight with extra batteries. Let’s have some fun!
