What we’re about
My wife, Maggie, and I are empty-nesters just finishing up our second year in Columbus. After making Dublin our home, we are looking to start a newcomers group for couples ages 50 to 65. We hope to bring together transplants who are motivated to build new social networks and friendships in their new city. After having relocated many times in the last 30 years, building new relationships after the move is the hardest part of the adventure! Our goal is to help newcomers integrate into Columbus life, much in the same way established “locals” helped us get started socially only two years ago.
We envision that most of our events will be mostly on the west side of town (Dublin, Upper Arlington etc.) with venues conducive to easy conversation so everyone gets a chance to actively contribute and potentially make new friends.
This is a couples-only, safe venue meetup to bring all newcomers together socially. It is not intended to be a dating, self-help, or politically polarizing meetup. There are lots of other meetups for that (and more) right here in Columbus.
